Latvian Evangelical Church of New York Camp Dining Hall, Elka Park, NY

The new camp dining facility operated by the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church is located on Hunter Mountain in the Catskills.  The existing dining hall was demolished to create space for the new wood-frame facility.  The new dining hall is approximately 10,600 sf which includes the large wrap-around porch and a second floor dormitory area for staff.

The first floor is comprised of a full service kitchen, training rooms, a small library and a large open dining area (4,800 sf).  The building is fully sprinklered with water provided from on-site storage tanks.  The facility is only open only during the summer months and was constructed without a heating system. The project was completed in 8 months and on time for the opening of Summer Camp 2011.
