Massry Center for the Arts at the College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY

Siena College Serra Hall Kitchen Renovation & St. Thomas More House Renovation

Sano-Rubin was selected as the Design-Builder for the kitchen renovation project at Serra Hall.  The project includes the removal, replacement and re-use of the existing food preparation equipment and fixtures and reconfiguration of kitchen space to improve space utility and process flow.  The renovation also includes kitchen staff support spaces such as locker room, restrooms and offices. 

 

Sano-Rubin worked closely with the College to provide options for the best use of space and equipment for their budget. Once on campus, Sano-Rubin was awarded the storm & sanitary line project which ties into the kitchen renovation and the St. Thomas More House Alteration project. 

 

   
   

State University of New York at Albany Campus Center Entrance Hall Renovation

Sano-Rubin was the general contractor for the renovation of the University’s Campus Center Entrance Hall project.  The work encompassed renovation of the existing entrance hall and reconfiguration of two adjacent spaces into additional lobby space.  The existing precast columns and walls were removed to create a more open floor plan for lounge spaces and information desk.  All interior finishes and signage were upgraded to University standards.

 

This work included:

·   Repair of the original terrazzo floors

·   Upgrade of the lighting throughout all spaces

·   Refurnishing the original 1960’s historical light fixtures

·   Addition of acoustical fabric panels

·   Installation of new wood panels at the main entrance lobby

·   Replacement of windows and doors

·   Installation of specialized concealed accordion fire doors

Vista House for Women & Children

Vista House is a transitional residence with 22 beds to provide shelter and care for 6 single women and 5 mothers with up to 11 children.  NYS OASAS Funding

With help from counseling, education, and employment training programs, women will live in a healthy environment and maintain an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle. Life-skills training will be emphasized so that residents have the ability and confidence to secure employment and continue on the path of recovery within the community.

 

   
   

Brighter Choice Charter Middle School for Boys and Girls

Sano-Rubin Construction Co., Inc. was the General Contracting prime contractor for the recently completed new 3-story, 54,000 sf middle school for both boys and girls.  The boys are girls each have separate mirrored wings containing a reception area, classrooms, computer rooms, lab/project rooms, lecture rooms and staff offices.  The center common space separates the 2 wings and includes the gymnasium, cafeteria, music room and library.  Unique features include a second floor semi-circular outdoor classroom and glass floor on the third floor.  The third floor will also be home to the Brighter Choice Foundation offices.  The city site is fully landscaped to provide green spaces and is enhanced by a pergola, stamped concrete patio and sundial

Guilderland Central School District

Sano-Rubin was the Construction Manager for this $29.6 million district-wide project. At Guilderland High School a 10-classroom addition was constructed to allow for renovation of classroom space to house the District offices.  Work at the 5 elementary schools included upgrades and improvements to building systems as well as lighting, telephone, flooring. The District's technology infrastructure and security was also upgraded at all the schools.

Niskayuna Central School District

The $94.5 million district-wide project consisted of additions, renovations, alterations to all 5 elementary schools, two middle schools and the high school.   District-wide upgrades were also performed in conjunction with the construction and included telephone system replacement, security, swipe card access system and classroom computer technology.  Extensive work took place at the high school which consisted of 8 additional classrooms, expansion of the Media Center and Music Rooms, creation of a study common, athletic field work and installation of geothermal wells.

The Fort Orange Club Athletic Addition

As Construction Manager, Sano-Rubin managed the construction of the new 6,770 sf Athletic Wing.  The addition includes a new foyer, Group Fitness Studio, Massage Area, Lobby/Lounge, 2 International Squash Courts, Viewing Mezzanine, Elevator and Stair.  The work also included renovation of 5,720sf of the original wing. The renovation converted the existing squash courts into a 1,800 sf, 2 -story Fitness Center and upgraded the lobby space and swimming pool.

Additional improvements were made to the Tap Room for improved interior traffic flow.  The existing building infrastructure was upgraded by replacing and upgrading the HVAC equipment in the mechanical room, replacing thru-wall units in guest rooms, improving plumbing drainage, replacing outdated electrical panels and feeders, upgrading and expanding the main electrical service.  A new exterior entrance terrace and relocation of the fire escape outside the Tap Room were also completed in the Spring/Summer 2010.

 

   
   

First Niagara Branch Bank

Sano-Rubin was the general contractor for the new branch bank office for First Niagara Bank located on Route 50 in Wilton, NY.    The new branch consists of teller stations with adjacent work area, four customer service representative areas, manager’s office, conference room, seating area, safe, drive thru and staff support areas.

Dental Arts Building for Dr. Vignali Albany, NY

Sano-Rubin was the general contractor for the new 3,500sf dental arts building located on Colvin Avenue in Albany.  The building houses 7 treatment room reception, waiting area, sterilization and equipment room and staff support area.
