NYSTRS Data Center Upgrade
Albany, NY
This project encompassed
construction of a new 2,500 sf, state-of-the-art Data Center with
renovations to adjacent workrooms and Xerox room. The scope of work
included spray fireproofing, access flooring systems, gypsum board walls
and soffits, ACT ceilings, and Clean Agent Extinguishing System.
A complete HVAC chiller
system rigged into the basement and associated courtyard piping work was
installed as well as demolition and removal of the existing chillers.
Sano-Rubin pre-purchased equipment such as CRAC, ATS, PDU and UPS units
for installation by the subcontractors in order to expedite the
schedule.
Electrical work included
installation of a new conduit system running through the basement to the
Data Center, grounding of the access flooring system, upgrade of
electric services to feed the new equipment, and installation of conduit
runs to multiple IDF closets throughout the facility.
A complete Structured
Communications Cabling system for telephone and data runs including
backbone cabling, racks, enclosures and extensive cable management
requirements was also installed. The project incorporated sustainable
materials into the design.
The project began July 2008 and was completed within the 5-month
schedule.
