NYSTRS Data Center Upgrade Albany, NY

This project encompassed construction of a new 2,500 sf, state-of-the-art Data Center with renovations to adjacent workrooms and Xerox room.  The scope of work included spray fireproofing, access flooring systems, gypsum board walls and soffits, ACT ceilings, and Clean Agent Extinguishing System.

A complete HVAC chiller system rigged into the basement and associated courtyard piping work was installed as well as demolition and removal of the existing chillers.  Sano-Rubin pre-purchased equipment such as CRAC, ATS, PDU and UPS units for installation by the subcontractors in order to expedite the schedule.

Electrical work included installation of a new conduit system running through the basement to the Data Center, grounding of the access flooring system, upgrade of electric services to feed the new equipment, and installation of conduit runs to multiple IDF closets throughout the facility.

A complete Structured Communications Cabling system for telephone and data runs including backbone cabling, racks, enclosures and extensive cable management requirements was also installed.  The project incorporated sustainable materials into the design.  The project began July 2008 and was completed within the 5-month schedule.

Time Warner Capital News 9  Troy, NY

This was a fast-track fit-up of an existing vacant space in the New 9 Broadcast Center.  The project consisted of new studios, master control room, editing rooms and renovation of existing spaces.  The schedule and conditions were extremely tight due to the 24/7 operation of the television studio.

WMHT Educational Telecommunications New Broadcast Facility Troy, NY

WMHT purchased the former MapInfo building located in the Rensselaer Technology Park in North Greenbush.  The project consisted of a new 12,000 sf, 32 ft high, one-story addition to house new production studios. It is structural steel framed with metal panel siding and EDPM roof. Approximately 25% of the existing 43,000 sf building was renovated.  This renovated area now houses the new technical core, FM radio studios and various other support functions.  Extensive electrical and HVAC work was required as well as minor plumbing and refitting of the sprinkler system.

WMHT went "On the Air" September 26, 2005.

Time Warner Cable Head End Addition, Albany, NY

This addition required removal of hundreds of yards of fill prior to the start of construction and sawcutting through 12" poured concrete walls to allow access to the operating head-end computer room.

The addition included a new server room and offices as well as a small lease space. A Halon fire suppression and three new RTUs were installed in the addition.  Minor renovations were completed in the existing building. Intricate coordination was necessary to complete the cut away of the existing conduit filled with communications wiring without disrupting the operational service.

All of this was accomplished without any interruptions to customer service
