This $4.9
million project included a classroom wing addition at the new Eagle
Elementary School and infrastructure work at Elsmere and Slingerlands
Elementary Schools.
The original $92.9 million
project consists
of additions, renovations, alterations to all 6 elementary schools, the middle
and high schools, the bus garage and education center. A new
elementary school, Eagle Elementary, was constructed to accommodate the growing population.
Replacement of the District's network
infrastructure for instructional computers and instructional technologies
was accomplished at all grade levels.

Each house
will have12
classrooms plus a 6th-grade science room.
Special subject rooms (e.g., art, music
and technology) and grade 7 & 8 science labs are centrally located and
shared across houses.
House leaders and guidance counselors have
office space right in each house and can better monitor additional
entrances to improve building security.

Replacement of the six "temporary"
classrooms in use for the past 17 years.
Expansion and reconfiguration of the
cafeteria.

Relocation of some main offices to allow
better monitoring of main building entrances.
Reconfigured bus and car parking and
student drop-off areas at all schools. Parking would be expanded at most schools.
New choral and orchestra rooms plus
lighting and acoustical upgrades to auditoriums.
Expansion of the Middle School lower
gymnasium and new two-station gymnasium and two
new athletic fields at the High School.
Addition of handicapped-accessible
restrooms and an elevator at the High School and Middle School.
Building infrastructure improvements at
all buildings, including the bus garage, operations & maintenance building
and the Educational Services Center (district office).
Expansion and renovation of the bus garage
to add a wash facility and another maintenance bay to keep the district on
track with mandates regarding bus inspections, safety and cleanliness.
